Southeast Tucson

Southeast Tucson

Southeast Tucson Area has a refreshing, open air feel to it that you just don't find in too many places in the greater Tucson area.  You find it in droves out here.  Driving along Old Spanish Trail,  the beautiful scenery encapsulates you.  It is a beautiful place.  You have open desert to one side and the majestic Rincon Mountains and Sahuaro National Park to the other.  Southeast Tucson roughly covers the area south of Golf Links Rd, east of Wilmot Rd, west of the Pima/Cochise county line and everything north of I-10 that fits into that aforementioned area.  Natural beauty abounds out here.  If you like the quiet and occasional solitude of country living, this is for you.  This is an excellent area to own a piece of Tucson real estate.

This area includes the enchanting communities of southeast Tucson itself, Vail, Rita Ranch, the modern and highly sought after Civano, Spanish Trail Estates, the golf community of  Rancho Del Lago, Coyote Creek, Academy Village, Whisper Ranch, Rincon Trails, Thunderhead Ranch, Rocking K Ranch and many more.  It's a large area and alot of the homes are spread out.  You'll be able to find a home with a rural feel to it as well as one with a suburban feel to it.  Southeast Tucson / Vail is full of large, beautiful homes and it's a comfortable life out here.  You get the advantages of open air living with the convenience of the short drive into Tucson. You can drive from the Walgreens in Vail to the Park Place Mall in approximately 30 minutes.  It's even a shorter time to get to downtown.  I-10 is a relatively short drive from anywhere in southeast Tucson so you can hop on the freeway for those quick jaunts to the northwest side or an extended trip to Phoenix.

You'll be able to find any style and construction of house for sale in this area.  A majority of the homes in this area are newer and there are a few points in the area where you can still build/buy a new home.  Rancho Del Lago, located in Vail,  currently has a couple of new home sites still available.  Whether you're looking for the 1500 square footer or the 5000 square footer, you'll find it here.  Prices vary from under $100,000 to over $1,000,000. Fixer uppers to palatial estates.

If you're looking for a home in an over 55 years community,  Del Webb has one for you in the Rancho Del Lago ( Vail ) area.  Very nice. Very Wonderful.

Shopping is plentiful.  If you're in the northern portion of Southeast Tucson Area,  you'll more than likely do most of your shopping in the southeastern part of Tucson itself.  If you're in the southern parts around Vail,  the best shopping centers are located in Rita Ranch and the area just south of Rancho Del Lago.  They have a Fry's Food and Drug, Quiznos, Dairy Queen and much, much more.  They even have a dance studio close by and everything has that sheen of new to it.  I can't leave out Rincon Valley Farmer's Market (not open every day) and Rincon County Store on the aforementioned scenic Old Spanish Trail.  They're wonderful stores in areas where you wouldn't necessarily expect them. That's what makes the charm.  I do notice alot more Ma and Pop stores in this area and they seem plentiful. Chalk up another win for Southeast Tucson and the Vail area.  Entrepreneurial spirit.

Golf is great at the Del Lago Golf Club and make sure to stop by at the excellent Hacienda Del Lago for a quick bite to eat.

Other areas of interest here are Charles Ford Lakeside Park, Fred Enke Golf Course, and hiking in the Sahuaro National Park in the northern part of Southeast Tucson.  You have Cienega Creek Natural Preserve, Colossal Cave and more in the southern ( Vail , Rita Ranch ) portion.
